Opinion:  The CME will start at sunrise on Friday, February 18, 2011, for St. Louis and will continue through the day.  I expect communication problems, but we may see them first with the international news Thursday evening – think Fifth Fleet at Bahrain.  The moon is full, so it will be behind the Earth instead of between the Earth and the sun.  Therefore, the moon will NOT provide protection from the flare.  I recommend that people wear head protection and sunscreen if outdoors on Friday.
